PENGARUH KOMPOSISI MEDIA TANAM DAN JENIS PUPUK KANDANG TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN SAWI HIJAU (Brassica juncea L.)

Tanaman sawi hijau (Brassica juncea L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman sayuran hortikultura yang banyak digemari dan diminati oleh masyarakat karena memiliki rasa yang enak dan manfaat yang baik bagi kesehatan tubuh. Pada umumnya, permintaan sawi hijau semakin meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk dan memiliki manfaat kesehatan bagi tubuh dengan mengkonsumsinya. Media tanam adalah tempat akar dapat menempel dan juga tempat akar mendapatkan nutrisi yang dibutuhkan. Pupuk organik adalah pupuk yang mengandung bahan dasar yang diambil dari alam dengan jumlah dan jenis unsur hara yang terdapat di alam. Potensi keuntungan dan pemilihan segmen tertentu menciptakan persaingan antar petani dan menetapkan standar kerjsama yang tinggi untuk mampu menghasilkan produk berkualitas tinggi yang dapat dipasok sesuai permintaan dan kondisi lainnya serta keamanan mengkonsumsi. Untuk memenuhi permintaan pasar dan persaingan dunia maka perlu dilakukan penelitian terkait pengaruh media tanam dan pengaplikasian pupuk kandang yang berbeda pada pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi hijau. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui respon tanaman terhadap perbedaan komponen media dengan pemupukan yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi hijau. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Seketeng Kecamatan Sumbawa Kabupaten Nusa Tenggara Barat dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan pola faktorial 2 faktor dan diulang tiga kali yaitu pupuk kandang (P) dan media tanam (M) sesuai taraf yang telah ditentukan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) tidak terdapat interaksi nyata pada semua pengamatan karena tidak berpengaruh komposisi media tanam dengan jenis pupuk terhadap sawi hijau; (2) terdapat pengaruh yang nyata dalam jenis perlakuan pemupukan terhadap variabel pengamatan tinggi tanaman dengan jumlah daun berproduksi tertinggi yaitu P1 (kotoran ayam); (3) tidak ada pengaruh nyata perlakuan media hijau terhadap variabel yang diamati pada tanaman sawi.
Mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.) is one of the most popular horticultural vegetable crops and is in demand by the public because it has a delicious taste and good benefits for the health of the body. In general, the demand for mustard greens is increasing along with population growth and has health benefits for the body by consuming it. The planting medium is where the roots can attach and also where the roots get the nutrients they need. Organic fertilizers are fertilizers containing basic ingredients taken from nature with the amount and type of nutrients found in nature. The profit potential and the selection of certain segments create competition between farmers and set a high standard of cooperation to be able to produce high quality products that can be supplied according to demand and other conditions as well as consumption safety. To meet market demand and world competition, it is necessary to conduct research on the effect of different planting media and application of manure on the growth and yield of mustard greens. The purpose of this study was to determine the response of plants to the different components of the media with different fertilization on the growth and yield of mustard greens. This research was conducted in Seketeng Village, Sumbawa District, West Nusa Tenggara Regency using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a factorial pattern of 2 factors and repeated three times, namely manure (P) and planting media (M) according to a predetermined level. The results showed that (1) there was no real interaction in all observations because it did not affect the composition of the growing media with the type of fertilizer on mustard greens; (2) there is a significant effect in the type of fertilization treatment on the observation variable of plant height with the highest number of producing leaves, namely P1 (chicken manure); (3) there is no significant effect of green media treatment on the variables observed in mustard plants.
