New City Development Concept in Sukodono Sidoarjo

Abstract


Sukodono as one of the districts in Sidoarjo has potential as a new city seen from the availability of land, and has accessibility to thrive related to the availability of infrastructure. Besides, a new city district in Sidoarjo 2009-2029 RTRW is also directed to the District Sukodono. But the condition Sukodono not support for the development of a new city. Therefore, it takes a study to determine what factors are influential in the development of new cities in Sukodono Sidoarjo and how the formulation of a new city development concept which is the purpose of this study. To achieve the objectives of the research carried out three phases of the analysis is the identification of factors that influence the development of new cities in Sukodono with descriptive analysis and methods Delphi, assess the performance of these factors with the service quality Likert scale, and the formulation of the concept of new town development by using analysis of triangulation.

Based on this research, a new city district in Sukodono currently included in the new city of the satellite. This was due to a new city in Sukodono is a city planned and developed, but residents still have a linkage relationship with the city of Surabaya and Sidoarjo in terms of employment and daily living needs. While the factors that influence the development of new cities in Sukodono is a growth factor of population increase, the convenience factor and social security community, factors facilities urban services capable of serving the needs of its inhabitants, a factor opening opportunities of business activities, factors residential development of large-scale character healthy, safe, harmonious, orderly, well-planned, integrated, and sustainable utilization factor and efficient use of land, land price control factors, factors internal and external access to adequate, appropriate factors of urban infrastructure urban ideal standard. So it takes the concept of the new city development to develop and improve urban infrastructure, municipal services facilities and allowing business activity.
