FAKTOR-FAKTOR PENENTU DIARE PADA ANAK BALITA DI INDONESIA: BERDASARKAN BUKTI DARI SURVEI DEMOGRAFI KESEHATAN

Abstrak
Diare tetap menjadi masalah kesehatan masyarakat di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia, karena angka kesakitan dan kematiannya yang tinggi. Tingginya kejadian diare disebabkan oleh faktor sosiodemografis, lingkungan, dan perilaku, salah satunya adalah jenis kelamin, usia balita, sumber air minum, jenis jamban, dan pemberian larutan rehidrasi oral (ORS). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kejadian diare pada anak di bawah lima tahun di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional dengan menggunakan data sekunder dari Survei Demografi dan Kesehatan Indonesia (PJS). Jumlah sampel yang diperoleh adalah 1237 anak di bawah lima tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ORS mempengaruhi kejadian diare (AOR = 12,243; 95% CI = 2,752 – 54,477). ORS diberikan untuk mengganti elektrolit dan cairan dalam tubuh yang keluar saat diare. Disarankan bagi orang tua balita untuk lebih memperhatikan kebersihan peralatan makan yang digunakan balita dan lingkungan yang sesuai untuk aktivitas balita.
