JAFI employs plagiarism screening measures to ensure the originality of the manuscripts submitted for publication. The journal utilizes plagiarism detection software “TURNITIN OR ITHENTICATE” to identify instances of potential plagiarism. Here is an overview of the plagiarism screening process followed by JAFI :

1. Upon submission: When authors submit their manuscripts to JAFI, the manuscripts undergo an initial screening process. The journal's editorial team checks the manuscripts for adherence to the journal's guidelines, including originality requirements.
2. Plagiarism detection software: After the initial screening, the manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism detection using specialized software tools. The software compares the submitted manuscripts against a vast database of published articles, books, websites, and other sources to identify any instances of text similarity. The maximum similarity acceptance limit of the whole manuscript is 20%.
3. Reviewing the plagiarism report: The results of the plagiarism screening are examined by the journal's editorial team. The software generates a report highlighting sections of the manuscript that may have similarities with existing sources. The editorial team carefully reviews these sections to assess the nature and extent of the similarities.
4. Evaluation and decision-making: Based on the results of the plagiarism report and the editorial team's evaluation, a decision is made regarding the manuscript. If the detected similarities are found to be within acceptable limits, such as proper citation or common phrases, the manuscript proceeds to the next stage of the review process. However, if significant instances of plagiarism are identified, appropriate actions are taken.
5. Actions for plagiarism cases: In cases where substantial plagiarism is detected, the manuscript may be rejected or returned to the authors for revision. The authors are informed of the plagiarism concerns and provided with the necessary guidance for addressing them. If the plagiarism is severe or constitutes a breach of ethical standards, the manuscript may be rejected outright or withdrawn from consideration.
