The agricultural sector in Indonesia is currently facing serious challenges, including land quality degradation, or land fatigue, due to excessive use of chemical inputs. This community service aims to restore soil health in Paya Peunaga Village through education on organic matter management and land conservation techniques. The method was implemented using a participatory mentoring scheme with interpersonal education strategies and knowledge gap analysis. Activities included training on identifying local waste potential, techniques for producing organic fertilizers independently, and demonstrations of applying mulch and simple terracing. The results of the service show a paradigm shift among farmers from conventional chemical cultivation toward sustainable agricultural practices. There has been an increase in technical literacy, enabling farmers to convert agricultural waste into high-quality organic fertilizer and to independently implement topsoil protection techniques. This program successfully increased farmers' independence from inputs and reduced reliance on subsidized fertilizers. The success of integrating organic fertilization with mechanical conservation was a key factor in maintaining soil aggregate stability and nutrient absorption efficiency. In conclusion, a humanist interpersonal approach is effective in reducing technological resistance among farmers. Strengthening farmer group institutions and developing independent business units are crucial steps to ensure program sustainability and maintain agricultural ecosystem resilience for future generations.
