Shallot and garlic peel waste are household and market organic wastes that are relatively abundant; however, their utilization as agricultural production inputs remains limited. This community service activity aimed to improve the literacy and skills of the target community in processing onion peel waste into an organic plant growth regulator (PGR) through simple fermentation techniques. The program was conducted using participatory educational methods, product-making demonstrations, packaging practices, and evaluations employing pre-test and post-test instruments administered to 40 participants from the Mandiri Farmer Group in Mojoagung Village, Nganjuk Regency. The core materials included concepts of organic waste, the potential bioactive compounds contained in onion peels, fermentation procedures using yeast, dilution guidelines, and safe application methods for plants. The activity resulted in a prototype of liquid organic PGR packaged in 1-liter containers, a product label design, and usage guidelines recommending the dilution of 10 ml of PGR solution in 1 liter of water before application to planting media or root zones. Quantitative descriptive evaluation showed an average increase of 49.7% in participants’ understanding based on comparisons between pre-test and post-test scores. Educational activities on the utilization of onion peel waste into organic PGR have the potential to become an appropriate, economical, environmentally friendly technology relevant to supporting sustainable agriculture at the household and farmer-group levels.
